I am quite disappointed by the design of the proposed Oklahoma Satanist statue. It looks to me like something out of a comic book or like a 19thC English engraving. I would rather have seen a nice low reflecting pool in the shape of a Pentagram, made from black granite. It would have provided a place to sit and meditate without making one feel trapped in a 'sword and sorcery' comic. Has modernism not penetrated into the thinking of American satanists? I would much rather contemplate the Christian God in a humble wooden chapel, than before a 900 foot tall concrete cross. In the same way, couldn't a Satanist design group have come up with a less Gothic design? Ah well, plenty to complain about in the Built Environment of our country.
